Yes, I want to eat him.

I’ve been meaning to share these. Philip took them right before D turned 4 months old.

Dizziness, Lost, primary day, and a cute baby

What more could you ask for in a blog post?  Ha.

I’m finally coming out of my hole.  Nearly two weeks ago, I got hit with a bout of dizziness.  I’ll keep it simple and say that it was not fun.  Dizziness is never fun, but try having a bout of it while you’re nursing a 4-month old full time, and caring for a 4-year old as well.  The medication I usually take for dizziness wasn’t an option because it’s an antihistamine—and that would dry up my milk!  So I prayed.  Hard.  And, I’m happy to say that it is better.  God is good!

I cannot wait until Thursday night.  LOST is finally, finally returning after eight long months!  I’ve been waiting for this season premiere since last May.  After eight long, dismal months of crappy prime-time programming, there will finally be something good to watch.  With the exception of Wife Swap and Supernanny, prime time TV sucks this season.  I have never seen a lineup so pitiful as the fall tv lineup was this year.  Every single show was horrible!  But now…now, there will be something worthwhile.  Something exciting, something thought-provoking to look forward to watching each week.  I’m excited!

And I guess I’m excited to go vote today.  Today is primary day here in FL.  It’s been hard to decide who to vote for.  I have no problem knowing who I’d love to see be our next president—Ron Paul!  There’s nothing I disagree with him on.  He’s got all the issues perfectly right—keep the government out of our lives!  But sadly, he has no chance of winning (since hardly anyone ventures to think outside the republican box ).  Since the race is a dead-heat between McCain & Romney, I feel like the best thing to do is vote for one of those two men (or rather, against the one I don’t want to win).  I loathe McCain.  I’m not wild about Romney, but there’s nothing that bad about him either.  So Romney it is!  Woohoo.  Hopefully he’ll pull off a win.  I’d hate to see McCain as the nominee.

I wonder what’s up with the Democrats in FL.  For some reason, whoever wins their primary today won’t get the FL delegates.  So, what’s the point for FL democrats to even go out & vote?  I’d be ticked off if I were them!

Since I’m all full of cheer today, I’ll add to the happiness by posting a video of the littlest sweetie who lives here in our home.  He has been using his ultrasaucer since 3 months, and that just cracks me up.  He’s all herky-jerky & robotic, but he loves to jump around in that thing!

Trust

“Yet you brought me safely from my mother’s womb
and led me to trust you at my mother’s breast.

…You have been my God from the moment I was born.”

Graysonism

01.14.2008 | 8:36 pm | Gray Matters

I was outside cleaning out the car, with Gray as my “helpful” companion.  He was, as always, asking questions constantly, about everything under the sun.  He spied the Apple sticker on the back window of the car, and asked,

“Mama?  Why do you have a sticker with an apple on the back of our car?”

I answered, “Apple is the brand of computer that daddy and I have—you know how there’s an apple on each of our computers?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, Apple computers are the best kind of computer to have, and that’s why we put the sticker for Apple computers on our car (and our truck, too).  Because they’re so good and we like them so much.”

“Oh.” (Gears visually turning) “I don’t have a Apple computer like you and daddy.  I just have…I don’t know…a…uhhh…a pear computer, or something like that.”

More pictures than you can shake a stick at!

I thought a nice way to ease back into blogging would be to post some pictures from the past couple of months. Lots of stuff has happened, with the holidays, Gray’s 4th birthday (FOURTH!  Where has my baby gone?!? :( ), and with D growing and changing constantly…he’s 3.5 months old now, by the way!

Anyway, the pictures are terribly miscellaneous, and they’re all different sizes…but I’m too lazy to fix them. :-P
This is from November, I think D was 7 weeks old here:

Also from November…Gobble Gobble! LOVE his expression here:

12/07, 2 months old, an outtake from our Christmas card photo shoot…he was complaining!

12/10/07, G’s 4th birthday! He loved his cake with balloons, can you tell?

12/07, Isn’t he the cutest little-old-man-looking thing? :) He was 2.5 months old here.

12/07 Christmas morning, D woke G, and G gave D his daily bear hug:

Christmas morning, D passing the time while we opened gifts:

12/07, Philip took this sweet self-portrait. It’s one of my favorite pics of him!

12/07 D hangs out in his Bumbo seat:

12/07, G and D together. They are so handsome!

1/08, so sweet after a bath…my favorite time for snuggling…he is hard to resist!

1/08 D has found his finger and he has been sucking on it ever since. So far he hasn’t mastered his thumb yet:

Philip did a big photo shoot of me, mostly for his istockphoto account. But a few of them were contenders for my blog header, and these are the ones that were runners-up, but didn’t make the cut:

This one was P’s favorite…I can’t imagine why.  I thought it had a cool feel, but I also thought it was kinda…too much.  LOL!

And! The final picture is my most favorite picture ever, ever, ever! While we were doing the photo shoot outside, G was running around playing, as usual. He came over to our setup, plopped down next to me, and asked Philip to take our picture together. The resulting shot was so candid and so “real”, it took my breath away when I saw it:

What you see above is pure, genuine happiness and love between mama and son. It’s a snapshot of a beautiful moment in time, one that I’ll have & cherish forever. You bet this one’s going up on the wall! He is the most beautiful boy I’ve ever known, and I love him more than this picture could ever show. (Although it shows it well, doesn’t it?)

Happy Birthday

to my aforementioned personal graphic designer!  My Philip is 35 today.  I think I love him more right now than I ever have.  He puts up with a lot from me.  I wish I could repay him for all he’s done for me and for our family.

Speaking of all he’s done, the blog is now redesigned, and I think he did a wonderful job.  I can’t decide if it’s tacky that my butt is part of the blog header, though.  He says it’s not, but he has a totally different take on all things pertaining to my booty.    I hope that it’s not.  I think it’s a cool picture, one that makes me look the way I often feel: anonymous & alone.
